Aderemi Suleiman Ajala holds a PhD in Anthropology from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He joined the academic faculty at the same University and became a Senior Lecturer in 2008. His research interests include health and culture, nationalism and politics, and ethnography, where he has made several contributions to learned journals nationally and internationally. He was a recipient of certain prestigious grants and fellowships, such as the Council of Development and Social Science Research in Africa -CODESRIA (2003-2005), the Social Science Research Council (2005), a British Academy Fellowship (2006), IFRES (2007), Alexander von Humboldt (2008-2009) and a Rockefeller Fellowship (2010-2011). He is presently writing a book on Yoruba nationalism.
